WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Boilermaker volleyball program had a record-setting year for overall revenue and season ticket sales. A Collegiate Consulting ticket sales and service partner, Purdue earned $177,832 for ticket sales in 2012, a 17 percent increase from the $151,715 earned in 2011.
“Volleyball ticket sales have been trending up at Purdue and 2012 was certainly a significant jump,” said Kyle Waters, Collegiate Consulting General Manager for Ticket Sales & Services. “We look forward to building on top of the success this year and setting the bar even higher in 2013.”
Volleyball ticket sales have steadily increased over the past five years. Since the 2008 season, total ticket revenue has increased by more than 37 percent. Public season tickets increased by 207 holders in 2012, a growth of 33 percent compared with 2011.
The Boilermakers, who finished the season ranked No. 15 nationally, took on a home schedule that featured four Big Ten foes with a final ranking in the top 10: #3 Penn State, #5 Michigan, #7 Nebraska and #8 Minnesota. Purdue also faced #16 Michigan State and #22 Ohio State at home. The Boilermakers were ranked in the top 25 throughout the 2012 season and finished with a 23-11 record. The team advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in the past eight seasons.
