Collegiate Consulting Completes Football Feasibility Study for Saint Leo

ST. LEO, FL (JUNE 26, 2019) - In conjunction with Collegiate Consulting, Saint Leo University recently completed an analysis of the potential addition of football to its intercollegiate athletic programs. The comprehensive study reviewed several areas, including price, competitive opportunities and community support.

Earlier this year, Collegiate Consulting spent two days on campus meeting with senior administration, coaches, student athletes and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the impact football would have on the school and its culture. Focus groups, external research and facility tours were also conducted, all with the purpose of determining if the sport is a viable option for Saint Leo.

Collegiate Consulting’s feasibility study also assessed the need for additional facilities and administrative staff with the potential new programs. The final report included what effect football would have on Saint Leo’s enrollment, as well net tuition and Title IX implications.

“We were excited to have the opportunity to work with Saint Leo, meet their key stakeholders and spend time with them on campus. The possibility of adding football is always an exciting process and we were thrilled to be a part of their study.” stated managing director Russell Wright, “We look forward to working again with them in the future, should they add football to their program or not.”

Saint Leo is adding acrobatics & tumbling in Spring 2020, but if football were to come to fruition as well, Saint Leo might need to consider adding an additional women’s program in the next five years.
