SPARTANBURG, SC (July 10, 2018) – Converse College has announced the hiring of Jennifer Bell as its new Director of Athletics after a national search. Converse utilized Collegiate Consulting, an Atlanta-based consulting firm, for the search.
Collegiate Consulting worked closely with Converse President Krista Newkirk to cultivate a broad pool of applicants and provide support throughout the selection process. Additionally, the firm helped with development and distribution of the job description as well as candidate review.
“We were very pleased to have Collegiate Consulting work with us on the hiring of Jennifer Bell,” Newkirk said. “We had a very deep pool of applicants that Collegiate Consulting cultivated. It is clear Jennifer has felt called to the position of athletic director for quite some time and has worked hard to gain the experience necessary to achieve that goal. We look forward to welcoming her to Converse.”
Bell comes to Converse from Coker College, where she served as Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations, and she also brings 18 years of athletics administration and coaching experience from Anderson University. As a Spartanburg native and graduate of Wofford College, she looks forward to bringing her family back to her hometown.
