ATLANTA, Ga. – Collegiate Consulting, which was retained by Emporia State University in May 2012 to complete a comprehensive Operational Review of its athletic program, has submitted its final report and summary to the University.
The comprehensive project included a review of both internal and external operations of the Athletic Department. ESU was benchmarked with athletic peers in the MIAA and leaders nationally in NCAA Division II. In addition, ESU was compared to institution academic peers as part of the review. This operational review provided a benchmark foundation of the current state of athletics in order to prepare for the future.

“Working with Collegiate Consulting has been a great experience for Emporia State,” President Dr. Michael D. Shonrock and Athletic Director Kent Weiser stated jointly. “Their work was thorough and professional, and helped determine not only where we currently are in relation to our national peers, but has helped guide us in the decisions we’ll make to position ESU Athletics for future growth and success.”

Emporia State University is a state university of Kansas, and is approaching its 150 year anniversary. The Hornets sponsor 11 athletics programs and compete in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

“We are extremely excited about the direction that President Shonrock is leading ESU as the institution approaches its 150th anniversary,” said Heather Ould, Chief Operations Officer of Collegiate Consulting. “We’d like to thank ESU, the athletic department and community for their support of this process and their hospitality during our visit to Emporia.”
