G-MACGreenwood, INLast week the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced the addition of five new members effective the 2017-18 academic year: Hillsdale College, Lake Erie College, Ohio Dominican University, University of Findlay and Walsh University.  The additions demonstrate the goals that Collegiate Consulting’s new membership studies have had for the conference in the past recent months.
The studies benchmarked several institutions against the standards set by the current conference administration, as well as the current member institutions.  This included criteria such as: sport sponsorship, enrollment, athletic budgets and suitable geographic fit for all members.  Ultimately the five institutions were the best suited for the current state of the G-MAC, as well as future goals and opportunities.

“With the announced addition of the five new members, I’m extremely excited with the direction that our conference has been moving since our inception as a NCAA Division II conference,” stated Commissioner Tom Daeger.  “This also includes the emergence of football and women’s lacrosse as conference sports in the near future, helping to expand the conference and the student-athlete experience.”

“We are very grateful for the opportunity to assist the G-MAC in this great step in the conference’s growth,” said Collegiate Consulting Managing Director, Russell Wight.  “We are pleased with the outcome of our services and look forward to seeing the bright future that is ahead, not only for the conference, but its members as well.”
