HATTIESBURG, Mississippi – Collegiate Consulting recently completed an operational study for the University of Southern Mississippi, aiding the athletic department in the development of a five-year strategic plan. The study, which began earlier this year, benchmarks USM with the programs in Conference USA as well as aspirational peer institutions.
“We are very excited about the resources that Collegiate Consulting has provided as we plan for the next five years at Southern Miss,” stated USM Senior Associate Athletic Director Jeremy McClain. “They have helped us to identify areas of growth, establish goals and ensure sustainable future success.”

Collegiate Consulting outlined several areas of consideration for USM, including development of external revenue sources, improvements to athletic facilities and increased integration with the University and community. The firm also provided strategic goals for improving student athlete academics and competitive success.

“Southern Miss has one of the premiere athletic programs in Conference USA,” stated Collegiate Consulting Managing Director Russell Wright. “We are very grateful for the opportunity to work with USM. The University is committed to succeed on all levels, and we believe that our strategic initiatives will help them do just that.”
